This must also be a hoax, right?

Also through Alsion:
US Department of health proposes to define contraception as abortion.

Er... Well, I guess it's good news for Durex. Unless that won't be allowed anymore either. Because, you know, you're preventing possible life!

Buggered if I know. You'd think it would have to be, but then you look at things and start wondering.

And yes, I'd expect condom sales to go through the roof. If, of course, the local chemist stocks them. It might offend their religious beliefs.

That's right! And you can't force them to sell it, can you. And woe is the boy who has a "nighttime emission".

Ach, that's just normal, not like they need condoms for it.

I was taught that contraception = abortion = mortal sin.

I'm going to hell!

I remember a pro-life group trying to argue that it wasn't pre-conception, as it still allowed the egg to be fertilised, but prevented it from sticking to the womb and thus causing it's death, and by their definition, that was an abortion.

At least I'll not need to worry about heating bills for the rest of eternity. *g*

I have to say, I've never actually understood the Catholic church (or various parts of Islam)'s insistence on no contraception in marriage. I mean, I can see where they're coming from in terms of outside of marriage (that is at least consistent with their stated beliefs) but inside of marriage I just can't see the problem. Frankly you'd think they'd be over this whole "populate the earth!" thing by now, but given the Pope's statements yesterday apparently not.

Oh no... when my cousin had a church wedding the priest basically told them in the sermon they had to have children. Because having children is what marriage is about, basically.

It's one of the wedding vows, that you will "accept children willingly from God".

As far as the Catholic Church is concerned, only God has the right to give or take life and mere mortals should not interfere. Who can argue with such words of wisdom from men who take a vow of celibacy?

It's easy to say isn't it, in their little ivory towers.
( Yeeeees? )
